A rich, delicious banana bread. I love it with walnuts or pecans, preferring the former. I made four loaves this time and added ripe figs from our tree to one loaf - love it.
Note in your cookbook this correction: 2 stiffly beaten egg yolks, should be whites

BANANA NUT BREAD
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 egg yoks
3 bananas, mashed
4 T buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup nuts
2 stiffly beaten egg whites
1 2/3 cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
